Synopsis

BioShock Remastered is a first-person shooter set in Rapture, a collapsed underwater city built on an ideal of unchecked freedom. You arrive as a plane-crash survivor and fight with guns and genetic powers while exploring its decaying halls. A visual and technical update of the 2007 original.

What people say

Reviewers still hold the original BioShock up as a landmark for its atmosphere, art direction, and story, and the remaster is credited with sharper textures, better lighting, and support for higher resolutions. The updated lighting is criticized for flattening some scenes, and one reviewer reported repeated crashes on the PC version. Extras such as the unused-content museum were seen as thin. Steam players rate it positively.
