Synopsis

A standalone prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order, set in 1946. You play B.J. Blazkowicz, an American agent sent into Nazi Germany to break into a fortified castle and later investigate a sinister excavation in a Bavarian town. It is a first-person shooter that mixes loud gunfights with optional stealth takedowns.

What people say

Critics generally liked the fast, satisfying gunplay carried over from The New Order and the many nods to the series' past. The first chapter is often called the stronger half. Common complaints are that it feels like a smaller retread of its predecessor, that an early stealth section drags, and that supporting characters and new ideas such as wall climbing are underused. Scores landed in the mid-70s on aggregators, and Steam players rate it Very Positive.
