Synopsis
Feeding Frenzy 2 is a casual arcade game from PopCap in which you steer a hungry fish around the ocean, eating smaller fish to grow while dodging bigger predators. A light story carries you through 60 short levels as six different fish, with power-ups, hazards, bonus stages and a Time Attack mode.

Reception
Gamezebo welcomed it in 2008 as a richer sequel, praising its simple mouse control, new scenery, power-ups and story mode. Reviews of the console version called it fun but faulted a thin story, a short main mode and the frustration of losing progress toward the next growth stage on death. Steam players today rate it overwhelmingly positively, mostly out of nostalgia, though many complain about the fixed 800×600 window and launch problems on modern Windows.

Design today
4.5/5- Controls feel natural on a modern controller or mouse and keyboardThe fish follows the mouse directly, with a click to dash and another to suck in items, so it is easy for any age; there is no controller support. Source: gamezebo.com, pcgamingwiki.com.
- Menus, text or interface are hard to read on today's screensThe game runs only at 800×600, and on current Windows it often stays in a small window that cannot be made fullscreen without a third-party wrapper. Source: pcgamingwiki.com, steamcommunity.com, steamcommunity.com.
- Saving is fair: free saves or frequent checkpoints, little lost progressEach level lasts only a few minutes, and story progress is kept between sessions. Source: outcyders.net, steamcommunity.com.
- It teaches itself: no guide needed to make progressThe game starts with mouse movement alone and introduces each new move, predator and power-up level by level. Source: gamezebo.com.
- Pacing holds up: little grind, filler or forced backtrackingThe story mode is about 60 brisk levels that players finish in a few hours, with Time Attack and bonus stages for variety. Source: outcyders.net, steamcommunity.com.
- Camera and movement never fight the playerEach level is a fixed 2D ocean scene, and the fish follows the cursor in real time. Source: gamezebo.com, pcgamingwiki.com.
