Synopsis

A deliberately silly sandbox game in which you play a goat let loose in a small suburban town. You headbutt, lick and ragdoll your way through people, cars and buildings, chaining stunts for points and hunting for hidden secrets and joke goals, with bugs and broken physics left in on purpose as part of the joke.

What people say

It became a viral hit in 2014, but critics were split: some enjoyed it as clever satire with hilarious ragdoll physics, especially with friends watching, while many dismissed it as a thin novelty made for YouTube clips, with little content, clumsy controls, bugs and humor that wears off quickly. Steam reviews from players are full of affectionate jokes, and its fans still value it as a short burst of chaos. As a game to sit down with today, its appeal depends almost entirely on whether its absurd humor lands for you.

Design today: 3.5 / 5

  • ✗Controls feel natural on a modern controller or mouse and keyboardThe controls are loose and floppy on purpose, and critics singled out clumsy mechanics. Source: opencritic.com.
  • ✓Menus, text and interface are clear on today's screensMenus and the score display are simple and the game supports widescreen and ultrawide well; evidence on this point is thin. Source: pcgamingwiki.com.
  • ✓Saving is fair: free saves or frequent checkpoints, little lost progressAs a free-roaming sandbox there is little progress to lose, and no complaint about saving was found; evidence is thin. Source: pcgamingwiki.com.
  • ✓It teaches itself: no guide needed to make progressThe basic actions are few and obvious and goals are shown on screen, so no guide is needed beyond hunting secrets. Source: steamcommunity.com.
  • ✗Pacing holds up: little grind, filler or forced backtrackingCritics widely found it repetitive with too little content, its joke wearing thin after a short time. Source: opencritic.com.
  • ✓Camera and movement never fight the playerNo common complaint about the camera itself was found; the chaotic physics are intended, and evidence on this point is thin. Source: opencritic.com.
