Synopsis

An episodic story game from Telltale based on the Fables comics, in which fairy-tale characters live in secret in 1980s New York. You play Bigby Wolf, the community's gruff sheriff, investigating a brutal murder through timed dialogue choices, light investigation and quick-time fight scenes across five episodes.

What people say

Critics praised its noir mood, comic-book art, sharp writing and voice acting when it released in 2013 and 2014, and many saw it as one of Telltale's best, though some found it light on puzzles and actual gameplay. Players today still rate the story, characters and the tension of its choices highly and note that it runs well even on older hardware and Steam Deck. Common complaints are a short, sometimes rushed season, occasional freezes or stutter in action scenes, and dialogue that sometimes feels awkward.
