Synopsis

A city-building and trading strategy game set in a future of risen seas, where you settle island chains and build up an economy through long production chains that keep growing populations supplied. You side with an ecology-minded faction, an industrial one or a research one, and balance profit against pollution while trading, exploring the ocean floor and fighting rivals.

What people say

Critics at release welcomed its futuristic setting as a fresh take on the Anno formula, praising the more complex economy, trade routes and the ecology system. Players today still enjoy its sandbox and continuous mode and value how well it runs on modest hardware. Common complaints are a long, slow tutorial campaign with repetitive missions, a late game that can feel overloaded or thin, and the required Ubisoft account and launcher, which some players blame for crashes, login trouble and losing access to online extras.
