Synopsis
A match-three puzzle game in which you swap adjacent gems to line up three or more of a color, clearing them for points and filling a level bar. Matching four or five creates special gems that explode or wipe out a whole color. Classic, Action, Puzzle and Endless modes are joined by several secret modes that unlock as you progress.

Reception
Bejeweled 2 was a major casual hit for PopCap, praised for its polished effects, planetary backdrops and calm synth soundtrack, and later reviewers still call it relaxing and hard to put down. Steam players rate it Very Positive, often out of nostalgia. Complaints today center on the PC port rather than the design: fullscreen flicker and low frame rates on modern Windows, a fixed 4:3 resolution, and the very long grind to unlock the Finity mode.

Design today
4.5/5- Controls feel natural on a modern controller or mouse and keyboardEvery move is a single click or drag to swap two adjacent gems, which works naturally with a mouse or touchscreen. Source: pcgamingwiki.com, honestgamers.com.
- Menus, text or interface are hard to read on today's screensThe game only runs at 1024×768 or 1280×960 in 4:3, the window cannot be resized, and on modern Windows fullscreen often flickers or shows wrong colors without a patch. Source: pcgamingwiki.com, steamcommunity.com.
- Saving is fair: free saves or frequent checkpoints, little lost progressEach player's data is kept in the game's users save folder, and Puzzle mode's 80 boards are small, self-contained challenges; the sources do not say whether an unfinished Classic or Endless game resumes after quitting. Source: pcgamingwiki.com, bejeweled.wiki.gg.
- It teaches itself: no guide needed to make progressThe single rule, swapping neighboring gems to make lines of three of a color, is simple enough that a reviewer explains it in one sentence, and special gems follow directly from bigger matches. Source: honestgamers.com, bejeweled.wiki.gg.
- Pacing holds up: little grind, filler or forced backtrackingClassic and Action levels move quickly, and Puzzle mode offers 80 compact boards; the only grind is optional, such as reaching Endless level 280 to unlock Finity. Source: bejeweled.wiki.gg, steamcommunity.com.
- Camera and movement never fight the playerThe whole board is always visible on a fixed screen, so there is no camera to manage. Source: pcgamingwiki.com, honestgamers.com.
