Synopsis
TRON 2.0 is a first-person shooter set inside the computer world of the 1982 film. You play Jet Bradley, the son of the original film's Alan Bradley, who is digitized into a system and must fight corrupted programs with the identity disc and other weapons. Between levels you install and upgrade subroutines in limited memory slots, and several stages are light cycle races.

Reception
Critics praised it in 2003 for capturing the film's neon look and for its light cycle races, and it holds a PC Metascore of 84. Later reviews still recommend it, highlighting the story, the visuals and the subroutine upgrade system, while noting uneven first-person platforming and some hard fights. Players on Steam rate it Very Positive, though most advise installing the fan-made Killer App mod first, since the unmodified game lacks widescreen and its online play is gone.

- Saving is fair: free saves or frequent checkpoints, little lost progressYou can save at any time, including with a quicksave key; one reviewer warns that quicksaving in a bad spot can leave you cornered with low energy, so keeping older saves helps. Source: diabolicalplots.com.
- It teaches itself: no guide needed to make progressIn-game tutorials explain the subroutine memory system, energy and weapons as they are introduced. Source: diabolicalplots.com.
- Pacing holds up: little grind, filler or forced backtrackingLevels are large but goal driven, built around tasks and keys, and light cycle races break up the shooting. Source: pwestpathfinder.com, diabolicalplots.com.
- Camera and movement never fight the playerMouse look handles multi-level arenas and flying enemies well, and the first-person platforming works better than its reputation suggests. Source: diabolicalplots.com, pwestpathfinder.com.
