Synopsis
Fahrenheit is a cinematic thriller from Quantic Dream set in a snowbound New York, where an ordinary man wakes up to find he has killed a stranger while in a trance. You switch between him and the two detectives hunting him, making dialogue choices and playing through scenes built around quick-time events. The story branches in small ways and leads to several endings.

Reception
The original release was praised for its bold interactive storytelling and split-screen presentation, earning a PC Metascore of 85, though critics singled out the rushed, supernatural final act. The 2015 remaster scored lower, with IGN pointing to new bugs, heavy reliance on quick-time events and two clumsy stealth chapters. Players today still enjoy the opening hours and the atmosphere. Common complaints are the awkward camera, button-mashing sequences and a story that falls apart toward the end.

Design today
2.5/5- Controls feel awkward on a modern controller or mouse and keyboardMost action is driven by quick-time events with stick patterns and rapid button mashing, and the prompts are hard to follow on both controller and keyboard. Controller support must be switched on manually and the D-pad and triggers do not work. Source: ign.com, steamcommunity.com, pcgamingwiki.com.
- Menus, text and interface are clear on today's screensThe remaster supports widescreen, ultrawide and 4K resolutions, with remappable keys and subtitles. Wider screens are letterboxed rather than stretched. Source: pcgamingwiki.com.
- Saving is fair: free saves or frequent checkpoints, little lost progressThere is no manual save, but with the autosave option on the game records progress after each important or difficult moment, shown by a REC icon, and finished chapters can be replayed from the menu. Autosave must be switched on in the options before starting the story, since it cannot be changed once a playthrough has begun. Source: steamcommunity.com, pcgamingwiki.com.
- Hard to make progress without a guideTwo stealth chapters give no direction or feedback about what the player should do, so failure comes without warning. The rest of the game explains its prompts during play. Source: ign.com.
- Pacing drags: grind, filler or forced backtrackingThe strong opening gives way to forced stealth chapters and a final act that players and critics widely call rushed and confusing. Source: ign.com, steamcommunity.com.
- Camera or movement fights the playerSeveral player reviews call the fixed, scene-based camera awkward, and it often swings to angles that make walking around a room clumsy. Source: steamcommunity.com.
