Synopsis

Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space is a comic point-and-click adventure, the second season of Telltale's episodic series starring a dog detective and his hyperactive rabbit-like partner. Across five linked episodes the Freelance Police travel to the North Pole, Easter Island, the past and Hell itself to solve absurd cases. Play centers on talking to oddball characters, collecting items and solving offbeat puzzles, with a few driving mini-games.

Reception

The original season was well liked in 2007 and 2008 for its sharp writing and voice acting, and the 2021 remaster by Skunkape Games holds a Top Critic Average of 80 on OpenCritic. Critics praised the improved visuals, new music and stronger episodes compared with the first season. Common criticisms are clunky puzzle logic and some repetition in how each episode is built. Steam players rate it very highly, with some disliking the recast voice for Bosco.
