Synopsis
A first-person stealth game that reboots the classic series, casting master thief Garrett as he sneaks through a plague-ridden, gloomy city. You pick locks, douse lights with water arrows, slip past guards and loot homes in a hub city between larger story missions. A focus ability highlights useful objects and routes.
What people say
Critics gave it mixed reviews, praising its sneaking and looting but faulting a muddled story, linear missions, constant loading screens and a city broken into small zones. Fans of the original games disliked that climbing and jumping only work at marked spots. Players today are split: some call it an underrated burglary game worth a few dollars, while others still see it as a weak reboot. Side jobs and the better story missions earn the most praise.
Playability today
Playability runs from 1 to 5. It is the average of two parts. Each part starts at 1 and climbs to 5 as more of its checks pass. Read the method.

Design today: 3 / 5
- ✗Controls feel natural on a modern controller or mouse and keyboardJumping and climbing are context-sensitive and work only at chosen spots, so Garrett often cannot grab ledges or ropes that look reachable. Source: pcinvasion.com.
- ✓Menus, text and interface are clear on today's screensIt supports widescreen, ultrawide and 4K with full controller support, and the interface draws few complaints; evidence on this point is thin. Source: pcgamingwiki.com.
- ✓Saving is fair: free saves or frequent checkpoints, little lost progressSaving rarely comes up in player complaints, which suggests it works fairly; evidence on this point is thin. Source: steamcommunity.com.
- ✓It teaches itself: no guide needed to make progressThe focus ability and predictable guards make progress clear without a guide, though finding valid rope arrow spots can feel like guesswork. Source: pcinvasion.com.
- ✗Pacing holds up: little grind, filler or forced backtrackingThe hub city is chopped up by loading zones with few routes between areas and no fast travel, so crossing it gets tiring. Source: pcinvasion.com, steamcommunity.com.
- ✗Camera and movement never fight the playerMovement is restricted to designer-approved paths, which limits the city as a playground and frustrates players used to freer stealth games. Source: pcinvasion.com.
